Around here: Glimpses from around our house.

It's been two months since we moved into our house and time sure is flying by! I haven't had time to spend many hours in front of the computer since the move. The house doesn't need any major work, but there are many little things that need to be taken care of and since we both work full time our evenings and weekends have become very busy. Last week I spent five hours raking leaves - since our house is surrounded by many trees the leaves pile up at this time of year. I was very sore the next day to say the least!
Elsa seems to be settling in well. We haven't let her go outside on her own yet but I have taken her out to explore the garden on the rare rainfree days we've had so far this autumn. She was especially curious about the big pumpkin we brought home to decorate our front entryway for the season - the other day she spent some time exploring it from every angle. She has already gained an admirerer - our closest neighbour has four cats and one of them has taken an interest in Elsa. He will come by and look through our windows at her almost every day. She screams at him and he sometimes bangs on the windows. We call him the peeping Tom ;)
Overall these past months have been quite overwhelming, but at the end of the day few things can beat being able to step outside into our own garden on a sunny day, or lighting a fire or taking a warm bath on a chilly evening, or even simply being able to do laundry whenever we feel like it ;)
