Project Life: January 2017.

At first I planned to make a separate post about my memory keeping plans for 2017 like I did for 2016. However, since I am not making any big changes compared to last year I decided to skip it. As was made apparent by my 2017 title page that I shared in January, I am sticking with the 12x12 size. I will also keep using mostly the same templates and the same font, and document monthly. What I will switch up is, of course, the products I use. Now that I'm not on the PL Creative Team anymore I imagine it'll be more of a mix between different designers than before. Just let me know if you have any questions about my memory keeping!

First up, a spread introducing the month. The calendar card is from the Project 52 Fresh Edition. I tried some different ones but thought this was the best fit in the end. It's not available in the Monday-Sunday format, but that was easy to change in Photoshop. The journalling card on the left is from the Everyday Edition and the Twenty Seventeen stamp is by Paislee Press. The rest of the products are from the Winter Day Collection by Sahin Designs. I recoloured both of the cards on the left side a bit to fit Winter Day.

A spread about one of the most magical winter days I've ever experienced. Products are a mix of Winter Day and the Say Yes To Kit by by Paislee Press.

About a day I spent with two of my sisters. Products are from the Project 52 Fresh Edition and the Everyday Edition.

Elsa's first time out in the snow! All products from the Say Yes To Kit (it was actually a kit that came out in the spring but I found that the colours work really well with winter photos too).

The first of three spreads documenting a long weekend in Stockholm. Products from the Winter Day Collection.

More about Stockholm and more Winter Day Collection. The journalling card is from the Everyday Edition though, and the sticker on the right by Sara Gleason.

The final spread about Stockholm. Products from the Say Yes To Kit, except for the Sunday label which is from Winter Day.

A spread about the month in our home. I am always better at documenting our home in the colder months, but I think it is very important. Journalling card from the Everyday Edition, everything else from Project 52 Fresh.

Finally, a spread about the end of the month when we celebrated my cousin's 15th birthday, among other things. Products from the Everyday Edition and Project 52 Fresh.

Project Life is a memory keeping system created by Becky Higgins. You can learn more about it here. Digital page protectors by Valorie Wibbens.

Project Life: 2016 album cover.

I finished this book in record time a few days into the new year and it arrived in the mail just a week later! I'm so happy with how it turned out. Because of the lack of daylight I haven't been able to photograph it yet, which means I can't share photos of the physical book with you just yet. In the meantime thought I'd start by sharing the cover.

I used a number template by Chelle's Creations just like I did for my 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 books. I replaced the "best of" with "a year in the life" this time though because I think it better describes what my memory keeping is about these days - not just including the best photos + memories but all the little details that make up my years. (For the spine I kept the old title which I realize is a bit inconsistent but I decided that I prefer that the books look consistent on the shelf.) For the back cover I used this template by Paislee Press, just like I did for my 2014 book, because I really liked the simpleness of it. I might just use it for this year's back cover as well. I also used some papers + an element from the Positive Vibes Kit by Paislee Press. Here are some close-ups:

When I choose the photos I want to include on the cover I try to pick a selection that represents what we did that particular year, the trips we went on and such, but at the same time I try not to overthink it. I usually put the covers together quite quickly once I've finished all the pages of the book.

I took more selfies than ever in 2016 because at the end of 2015 I finally found a spot in our little apartment that gets decent natural light, so I wanted to commemorate that on the cover somehow :)

Life Lately: January 2017.

Watching | We started the year out by watching Lion at the cinema and I loved it so much that I immediately wanted to rewatch it. It's the best film I've seen in a long time. Seriously, go watch it now! ;) Other than that we watched Keeping Up With the Joneses which I found really funny.

Listening to | Mostly various P3 documentaries.

Consuming | Blood oranges still :)

Reading | Let Me Sing You Gentle Songs which has been waiting on my bookshelf for years. It's okay but a bit slow so far.

Visiting | My parents, my sister + my cousin to celebrate her birthday.

Enjoying | The beautiful wintery days we were blessed with at the start of the month, finishing + seeing my 2016 photobook in print (photos to come!), noticing that the days are becoming longer again, bringing home bouquets of colourful tulips, our trip to Stockholm, doing my annual decluttering and making tentative plans for the year ahead.

Making | Project Life pages for my 2017 album :) And working on a 1SE video of 2017.

Looking forward to | Some potentially good news we're expecting, lighter days + hopefully more sunshine.
