Around here: An evening in September.

As I've mentioned earlier this year, my motivation to share photos here dwindled somewhat once I started scrapbooking as I go. In the past my blog entries have been a gold mine when I've scrapbooked events months or sometimes even years down the line, but now that I'm up to date with my memory keeping + journalling sharing my photos (and not just the completed Project Life layouts) here feels less urgent. Especially considering that even my own mother doesn't seem particularly interested in these entries. However, I do want my blog to contain something other than Project Life layouts + monthly summaries, so I will make an effort to share more of my photos again for the remainder of the year :)

In any case (now that I've typed out an entire paragraph that has nothing to do with the photos in this entry) these are some photos I took on Sunday evening. The weather forecast predicted a day of rain but it was warm and sunny and the evening was just magical. I was home visiting my parents and just had to step outside into the incredible evening light so I ventured out for a little countryside walk along with my camera. There was a crispness to the air and a faint scent of apples wherever I went. Everything was quiet, apart from the sound of my own steps. Somewhere between summer and autumn, I was on my own, with just my camera, and for once I had time to shoot in manual (something I rarely do when I have company because it does take longer than shooting in aperture priority mode) and my photos turned out that much better for it. It was just an hour of my week, but it was filled with moments I will cherish for a long time.

  1. Beautiful photos! I'm kind of experiencing something similar with Instagram. I was all for sharing photos, even more than once a day before starting Project Life, now I rarely feel the "need" to share them, because it's all recorded already :)

    1. Thank you! Glad it's not just me. Project Life makes memory keeping so easy that there isn't much need for other mediums haha :)
